Put it under the bright light and saw milky areas, like how vinyl looks after a cleaning before completely dry. Gave it a good cleaning. Problem solved. I buy tons of vinyl, have around albums, and my experience has been that issues with a new album are often physical defects not resolved by a cleaning.
Anyway, glad to have gotten this resolved. Fun box set. How much better is this stereo version than the DSD I already own? The mono LP is intriguing but from what I understand it is just a fold down from the stereo, can anyone confirm this or if the mono adds another element to the album?
Anyone know why is was delayed from 1 Nov until 15 Nov? Have: Want: Avg Rating: 4.

It took my teenage years to discover that. Because EPs were never a lucrative format in the US, London Records — their American distributor at the time — spread its songs across an album, adding seven new recordings to create a release of 12 songs by five musicians, hence the album's title. Total length:.The Rolling Stones ' recordings are a matter of some controversy; many critics felt that they were compromising their raw, rootsy power with trendy emulations of the BeatlesKinksDylanand psychedelic music. Approach this album with an open mind, though, and you'll find it to be one of their strongest, most eclectic LPs, with many fine songs that remain unknown to all but Stones devotees.
The lyrics are getting better if more savageand the arrangements more creative, on brooding near-classics like "All Sold Out," "My Obsession," and "Yesterday's Papers. The best tracks on the American edition were the two songs that gave the group a double-sided number one in early the lustful "Let's Spend the Night Together" and the beautiful, melancholy "Ruby Tuesday," which is as melodic as anything Mick Jagger and Keith Richards would ever write.

Aside from the slight problem of not having that much cash, it did make me wonder: Why bother? Perhaps Chris was right?
Like the chap Thomas in the bible, I get these minor doubts pop up in my head from time to time. To resolve them, I pop down Spitalfields Record Fair. It never fails to energise the senses, as that unmistakeable smell of musty old record collectors fills the nostrils. Five out of six of the albums were secured over the course of three visits to Spitalfields and Southend Record Fairs. But buying the records was not the biggest task. There are, however, some differences between first pressings.
This edition is recognizable by the matrix number printed between the label and where the grooves end of side B: XARL A. Trainspotters alert. Dammit, no: One number out…. Needless to say my copy was the latter, and although not mint, sounds great. If it does, congratulations. It means you are normal.
The two best songs are, in fact covers of Muddy Waters and Slim Harpo songs. Think that Led Zeppelin were first to do this? Oh no. The Stones were the first pop group to omit the name of the band from the cover. The twelve songs by the five piece Stones which comprise 12 X 5 are, like its predecessor, deeply entrenched in rhythm and blues and soul; brimming with lively covers and boasting the support of bad-boy Brian Jones. Apparently frightened by their motley looks, Sullivan vowed to never have them on the show again.
On the Rolling Stones original songs, it sounds as if Jagger is attempting to tame the muse of lyric writing with a Mars bar and a pouty-lipped pucker. By the following year, time matured the group into rock stars grown right, still tied to their roots but coming into their own in a satisfying way. Category: Album of the WeekAlbum Reviews.
